About Lady Evelyn American School
Lady Evelyn American School is a complete, interactive online private school. We are part of a global group of schools. This is the American School and Lady Evelyn Independent School is the British School, each giving access to a world-class curriculum for our students. Here we have an Elementary, Middle, and High School. In the British school, we have a Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form School.
Students learn on their own computers with a headset and microphone, and they interact directly with their teachers and fellow pupils. Classes are taught live, online, by expert teachers who have a passion for their subjects and are dedicated to helping every student succeed.
You can expect everything from traditional brick-and-mortar schools and a lot more at Lady Evelyn American School. Students can study from anywhere in the world while having access to expert teachers teaching the American curriculum. Classes are conducted live by real teachers (not boring CDs), and students can interact with them directly during and after the classes.

Lady Evelyn is split up into two divisions: the American School (this one) and the British School. Each division gives students access to a world-class curriculum.
Here at Lady Evelyn American School, we teach the American curriculum in our Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, culminating in an American High School Diploma.
Students “attend” school just like any other traditional school, but with one major difference: all classes are conducted online. The students do not need to travel to a regular brick-and-mortar school. They will simply log into the Lady Evelyn School Portal at the time of their classes and begin their learning.
The teachers teach live, using a virtual classroom which includes a whiteboard, a live video and audio feed of the teacher, and a chatbox. During the class, students can easily communicate with the teacher and each other through the chatbox and their microphones, when required. Students submit their homework (and see their marked work) via the school platform. Everything is conducted online.
Using voice, text, whiteboard, notes, recordings, presentations and screen sharing, classes are much more engaging and interactive than at traditional schools. Students can set tasks to work through specific exercises, share their work or demonstrate to the class. This allows every student the chance to directly and privately communicate with the teacher, so no one is ever left feeling missed out or left behind.
Classes are taught live, online, by expert teachers who have a passion for their subjects and are dedicated to helping every student succeed.
Teachers have a minimum of 2 years of classroom experience, often significantly more. They also have a minimum of a PGCE or a teaching qualification equivalent in education.
While the Islamic faith is at the centre of our ethos at Lady Evelyn American School, we welcome students of all faiths and of none, as well as all students from all backgrounds. We aim to offer a superb education for all.
We encourage tolerance and a genuine understanding of different faiths and beliefs. We expect all students to respect the multi-culturally diverse society in which they live.
We offer optional subjects related to the Islamic faith, such as Islamic Studies and the Qur’an. From time to time, students will be required to attend assemblies in which matters such as kindness, being charitable, and other faith topics will be discussed.
We are a member of Cognia, one of the world’s largest accrediting bodies, ensuring high standards. Online schooling falls under homeschooling in many countries (including the UK) and is a legal alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar schools.
Yes. The days of trying to explain to your school why you need a holiday on either this day or the next for Eid are gone!
At Lady Evelyn American School, we follow private and independent school conventions for the number of academic study weeks in each year. Because this gives us some flexibility, we have holidays that give us some spiritual time at the end of Ramadan and for Eid to spend time with family and friends. About Our American K-12 School
We are a member of Cognia, which includes NCA CASI, NWAC, SACS CASI, the National Association of Private Schools, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and are in the process of receiving accreditation from them.
Students who graduate from Lady Evelyn American School’s American section will earn a fully-accredited American High School Diploma.
At Lady Evelyn American School, we teach the American Curriculum, in accordance with the Florida State:
• Elementary School – Grades 1-5
• Middle School – Grades 6-8
• High School – Grades 9-12
We require 24 credits for the High School Diploma. This is an internationally recognised qualification and can be attested to provide entry to international universities, including the UK.
Yes. The American High School Diploma is accepted by colleges and universities in the USA, internationally and in the UK. If you want to be certain that you can get onto your chosen college or university course, we would recommend that you check with our admissions team.
Students can opt to complete the AP classes in a range of subjects, but may register with the College Board as a home school student to complete the public exam. Please contact support for further information.
Yes. Our American section curricula are based on Common Core standards.
Yes. You can transfer your existing credits to Lady Evelyn American School with a transcript from your previous, accredited school. Once we have reviewed the transcript, we can then set up a meeting to discuss with you how many credits we will transfer over.
Our American section will run from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm Central time, and students from all over the US (and over the world) can join from the comfort of their own homes.
Important Note: Actual times will depend on the timetable and which subjects the students have actually chosen. Students will not be studying throughout the day. Also, the students are only expected to log on and be at their computers during class time.

It’s only been a week, and I’ve been listening in on some lessons, and the teachers are really good. They bring Islamic themes into a lot of the lessons. My children are in Year 4 and Year 6, and they are really enjoying this new change, plus all their lessons are recorded, so it’s easy to catch up if we ever miss anything. Also, it’s easy to see if they need to find any assignments they need to do, as the website is easy to use. Allah humma baarik lahum.

It was just amazing
I used to always struggle with online lessons, get bored really quickly but the way the teachers got you to interact it was just amazing. I remember having competitions between my classmates on who got the highest scores for tests and homework and it really drove you to work hard and be a little competitive. Overall I will always have very fond memories of LEIS, I met some of my closest friends there and it took me from failing to smashing all my exams.

I have three children
My have been with Lady Evelyn for multiple years now Al-hamdu lillah. They had been previously behind with the UK curriculum because I am situated in Saudi Arabia and Al-hamdu lillah they have improved significantly in there skills. Initially when the school first started there were a few staff changes but for the last few years they have had regular teachers and the quality of the teaching is superb. My son will be going into his GCSE years with lady Evelyn and honestly I feel like his education is in great hands.

I wish I had joined sooner
I have been to another online school before Lady Evelyn and this one is a world apart. The teachers are very knowledgeable about their subjects and they go out of their way to explain concepts that I don’t understand. They actually care. The homework can be a bit much sometimes but I guess that also helps with lifting our grades (my grades have improved dramatically since I joined). So far I have been in this school for 3 years and I’ve really enjoyed my time at Lady Evelyn. I wish I had joined sooner.

One thing I really really appreciate is the tarbiyya! Allahu Akbar.
Makes all the difference, Subhan Allah. They really focus on akhlaq and just being a good person in general. Being a good Muslim! Lady Evelyn American School British Section
At Lady Evelyn American School, in the British section, we teach the English National Curriculum:
• Primary Key Stage 1 – Years 1-2
• Primary Key Stage 2 – Years 3-6
• Secondary Key Stage 3 – Years 7-9
• Secondary Key Stage 4 – Years 10-11 (GCSEs)
• Sixth Form Key Stage 5 – Years 12-13 (A Levels)
International GCSEs are globally recognised qualifications and are very similar to GCSEs (which are only recognised in the UK). International GCSEs do not usually involve any coursework as they are internationally focused.
We are thrilled to announce that 95% of our results this year for International GCSE were a grade A* or A, which is a phenomenal achievement and a testament to the dedication of our students. Yes. The International GCSEs we teach are accepted by colleges and universities in the UK and around the world. If you want to be certain that you can get onto your chosen college or university course, we would recommend that you check with our admissions team.
Advanced Level (A Level) qualifications are subject-based qualifications that can lead to university, further study, training, or work. Students normally study three or more International A Levels over two years. Top universities in the UK and around the world require students to have studied International A Levels.
As for our International A Level results this year, 85% of our students achieved grade A in their chosen subjects, while 100% of our students achieved the top A*–B grades. You can see a detailed breakdown by clicking here.
Yes. The International A Levels we teach are the same as those in any other Sixth Form or college in the UK and are recognised by universities in the UK and around the world.
Students sit their formal exams in local examination centres, closest to them. There are thousands of examination centres in the UK and across the world. Usually, secondary schools accept Lady Evelyn American School candidates. If you need help in finding a local examination centre, get in touch with us and we’ll help.
The main school timings for the British section are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm London time. Most students, however, will be finished by 3:30 pm, and primary school students will normally be finished by 2:00 pm.

Classes, Lessons, and Tutorials
Yes. The classes are conducted live by real human teachers.
Yes. All the classes are live and in real-time. The live classes are recorded, and students can access the recordings for the subjects they are enrolled in. This is a huge advantage over traditional schools. For example, when a student has missed a class due to illness, he/she can catch up by watching the recordings.
Also, when doing homework, sometimes a student may come to realise there was a topic he/she didn’t fully understand. Or maybe he/she want to re-watch certain subjects during exam time to consolidate the learning. In all these cases, studying at Lady Evelyn American School gives a crucial edge over traditional brick-and-mortar schools.

If a student is unable to attend a live class, his/her parent/guardian must inform the school via the Lady Evelyn Parent Portal for it to be marked as an ‘Authorised Absence.’
If this is not done, it will be marked as an ‘Unauthorised Absence’ and will be recorded in the student’s file. In both cases, students are expected to watch the recording of the live class and submit the relevant homework on time.
Students are arranged into class groups of up to a maximum of 19 pupils. Our class sizes are significantly smaller than at traditional schools.
Each child gets more individual attention and personalized instruction, addressing their unique learning needs and styles. Teachers can better understand their students’ strengths and areas of improvement and provide tailored guidance and feedback.
Exercise is an amazing tool to help us feel happier, more energised, and more optimistic. Every student will have Physical Education once or twice per week.
We have a core number of subjects depending on the academic level of the student. However, students may take as many or as few subjects as they like.
Yes. The students may take exams a year early (or even earlier) if they are ready.
Lady Evelyn American School’s Quality Assurance team monitors lesson delivery, conducts periodic peer reviews, and analyses student feedback to maintain high virtual teaching standards in every session.
All homework is submitted online via the Lady Evelyn School Platform. They are also marked online, and students will receive their grades on the Lady Evelyn School Platform, too.

Yes. We certainly accept and welcome students from all over the globe. We follow the American Curriculum, and students from all over the world, no matter which nationality, can benefit from our high standards of teaching, as well as gain the globally recognized American High School Diploma.

Yes. We accept both boys and girls at Lady Evelyn American School.
Yes. You can pay annually or per semester/term. In some circumstances, we also allow monthly payments over ten months. You can see the details by clicking here.
Our Annual Contract is binding for one academic year (September-July) and gives you the option to spread the cost over two semesters, three terms, four quarters or ten monthly payments (September-June). An academic deposit is required. The benefits of our Annual Contract include:
• No interest charges.
• One single payment or convenient payment plans.
• Best value for money and the most affordable package.
• A one-year academic commitment so your child’s place is secured for the year.
Our Pay-As-You-Go Contract is a great option for families who are not able to commit to our Annual Contract. With the Pay-As-You-Go Contract, you pay per quarter (in the American section) or half-term (in the British section) and can cancel any time within that quarter or half-term. The benefits of our Pay-As-You-Go Contract include:
• No annual commitment.
• Cancel any time during the quarter or half-term that you have paid for.
• Pay each quarter or half-term without committing to the next quarter or half-term.
Yes. We offer a 5% discount on the lowest fee for siblings who are currently studying at Lady Evelyn American School.
The requirement is that the student must be fluent in English. However, we may also require a transcript from the student’s previous school.

Our teachers are mostly American and mostly based in the USA, and our students are from all over the world.
Yes. Students can register from anywhere in the world where there is an internet connection.
Once a student has been enrolled at Lady Evelyn American School, closer to the start of the academic year, we will send a list of books to be purchased for each subject, along with links from websites and bookstores from which they may be bought. The actual books will vary, depending on which year group the student is in and, if applicable, which subjects he/she has chosen.
